About Diya

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a creative and hard-working soccer player who loves to score goals. I’m good at dribbling past defenders and making smart plays with the ball. I always try to find my teammates when they’re open and help create chances for my team. I bring energy, teamwork, and creativity to every game.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m hardworking, focused, and always give my best effort. I stay positive, think creatively during the game, and look for ways to help my team succeed. I have a drive to succeed on the soccer field and the classroom.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’m involved in National Honor Society, DECA, Women in Medicine and Medical Detectives. I received the honors award for achieving a 4.0 GPA.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

By playing multiple sports, I’ve learned to adapt to what my team requires of me in order to win. I played softball last spring and was not a big hitter. However, I was great at running the bases. So, to help my team, I focused on being a contact hitter in order to get on base. Once I was on base, I relied on my teammates to hit me home. I learned to lead in different ways.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college where I can be challenged both academically and on the soccer field. I’m excited to be part of a team that values hard work, teamwork, and determination, just like I do. My goal is to find a school where I can succeed in the classroom and make an impact on the field.

Thomas is one to watch as the season progresses. She is a quality Forward that has speed and fantastic ball control. Diya moves quickly to goal and places accurate shots on frame. Diya’s awareness of space and ability to draw defenders makes her even more dangerous when she uses her skill moves to break the back line. Her and her Kentwood Conquerors will continue to battle to stay near the top of their league and vie for favorable seeding come post season play.
