The Marin FC Blue 2005/2006 girls team heads into the Surf Cup after a strong showing in ECNL play. The team went 9-6-3 in a highly competitive NorCal Division, good for 5th and qualification in Showcase A of the ECNL playoffs. The team went 2-1-0 in those playoffs and also won the NorCal State Cup. Among the season highlights were a 4-4 draw against Division champs, and powerhouse, MVLA, and a 5-0 win over a Mustang SC team that finished third. Marin FC is looking to finish strong at this weekend's Surf Cup.

Photo: Ella Emison

[player_tooltip player_id='51787' first='Maren' last='Jones'], Attacking Midfielder, Tamalpais, Class of 2024

Jones is a very talented No. 10 that can use both feet and make it look easy. She's dangerous moving forward, not just as a scorer, but as a distributor. With quick, agile lateral movement, she is hard to defend as she likes to move around and is excellent at finding space.

Bella Ong, Forward, University, Class of 2024

Ong has been a much ballyhooed player in San Francisco because of her versatility and dynamic abilities. She has been one of the premiere goal scorers in the Bay Area for a few years now as she can play all three forward positions. She is featuring as a No. 9 for Marin FC, showing off her speed and finishing ability.

Photo: Devon Johnson

[player_tooltip player_id='54231' first='Riley' last='Pearson'], Central Midfielder, Branson, Class of 2025

Pearson is as solid as they come in the midfield. She works incredibly hard, leaves it all out on the pitch has an incredible work rate. She will go box-to-box, defend with all her hard and likes to get forward as well like an attacking player. Athletic to go with the fact she works hard, Pearson is a ball-winner who is not afraid to make a challenge.

Mari Rode, Outside Defender, Archie Williams, Class of 2025

Rode, like Pearson, plays a year up on the 05/06 team. She is a very athletic player, who demonstrates a play-making ability. She has good size, she is strong and has good pace. She can play either outside defender position, and she shows bravery no matter where she plays, making challenges and winning balls.

Kacy Walker, Central Defender, Marin Academy, Class of 2025

Walker joins Pearson and Rode as a trio of 2025 grads playing a year up for this team. A strong player with size, she is instinctive in her movements and actions. She moves up and down the pitch very well, showing great ability as a central defender. She can move well with the ball and she makes good decisions.
