Six 2025s on the rise from Illinois

The goalkeeper made a number of saves in key moments for her side. She is an athletic shot-stopper with good technique in her diving. She is comfortable playing off her line and almost looks like a sweeper-keeper at times with how far off her line she plays and how often she is on the ball. Her distribution is good and her quality of passing/ball striking has improved this season. The left-footed outside back offered some quality going forward for her side. Confident on the ball, Simpson did well when she was released and could whip in a cross. She hits a good ball on set pieces - driven with pace - and offers a threat for an assist on any dead ball within 40 yards. She is a strong defender when she gets hands on the attacker and forces them away from goal. There were a couple of times when she overstepped the challenge in the open field and got caught on her heels in the duel. She was the only 2025 midfielder in that group. Aronsohn is a bit of an off-the-radar prospect. She seems like a late arrival to the club game, perhaps only picking it up in the past few years. She is a multi-sport athlete with her standing out on the basketball court as well. She is playing club, high school, and futsal now. She is an attacking midfielder who I think has a future at the next level. She is a dynamic playmaker in that role. Quick in her thought, decisive in her action, and slippery with her movements, Aronsohn has characteristics that will translate to the college game. There are very few left-footed players in that role. She is a good finisher. She strikes the ball well and has the quality to finish chances from outside of the box. Her finishing extends to her recognition of space as she does well in popping up in space and dribbling past defenders when the opportunity is available. She could feature on the left wing as well. She has Division I talent in the attack. She plays for a local club in her town and has for most of her life - so she doesn't get much spotlight from the national radar. The high school junior from Wheaton deserves some attention along with all of the other talent in this class in Illinois. She was an All-State honoree as a sophomore. She led her high school team in scoring both her freshman and sophomore seasons. She is one of those rare players who seems just as confident striking the ball with either foot. The quality with both feet makes her a tough player to defend. No one knows which way she is going, and she is smart on the ball to exploit defenders when their off-balance. She can finish from tight angles too and scored a number of goals off a short-corner kick routine.
