The Utah commit recently was called to the Sub-17 Femenil Mexico National Team Roster.  She competed in three matches during the Torneo 4 Naciones (4 Nations) against Costa Rica, Canada, and the United States.  Previous scouting reports noted that she has the versatility to play as a back.  Her offensive strengths were making good plays to get to the end line and sending crosses in the penalty box.  She also protected the space behind her on the defensive side and added to the team’s buildup during counterattacks.  The #223 nationally ranked, #13 in IL, and #4 in position will definitely be on the radar from scouts at the higher levels.

Sanchez was with the Eclipse Select 09 team that dropped all three matches in Dallas – each of them by a single goal. Originally a forward, I got to watch her playing right back in a 1-0 loss to Albion Hurricanes FC and was positively impressed by her performance. Sanchez’s offensive instincts were apparent when she got into the attacking half as her game was very smooth and she made some good plays to get to the end line and send crosses into the penalty box. ‘AJ’ also did solid work in her own half, supporting the team’s buildup when needed and playing with great intensity on the defensive side of the game to protect the space behind her back extremely well.

She was all-business as a left-back this morning. Won almost every 1v1 attempt I saw on her side of the field. Displaying a terrific defensive stance to prevent successful dribbles as well as blocking crosses. She also showed excellent speed while transitioning to defend as she helped disrupt a key 1v1 situation midway thorough the opening half. With the ball, she never panicked and was a quick decision-maker.
