I10 Shootout: Standout Outside Backs

She was tasked with defending some of Klein's most dangerous offensive players in the match I got to watch and won most of the duels she was involved with. Although not super physical, Alanis showed a great reading of the game and quickness to make anticipations. She started the match at left back, moved to the right and spent some minutes playing on the left side of a back three, displaying great versatility. Dorsett was very successful in 1v1 duels, timing her actions well to get stops. She wasn't super active offensively, but picked the right moments to push forward and got to the attacking half in no time, offering a viable option to her teammates. More of an offensive-minded right back, she has the pace to take the ball to the end line and is a good crosser. She's very comfortable on the ball and doesn't lack confidence when it comes to going against opposing defenders and attempting to beat them off the dribble, having displayed some interesting moves against Clear Springs. With her team under pressure for most of the time, the left back displayed great determination and tremendous efficiency to defend her area of the field. Also capable of playing on the right, she has excellent defensive instincts and is capable of winning duels even against much more physical opponents. Sprayberry uses her physical tools to make stops but is also very focused and intelligent with her actions, timing her tackles and interceptions very well.
