The contest went all the way to a penalty shootout where the West secured the victory. Here’s five notable standouts from the contest.
Allison George
Allison George
She was undoubtedly the most dominant player out there. A physical Center Back who brings so much energy to the field. Physical during 1v1’s and did a great job keeping plays alive. She also contributed in the attacking game, as she continuously put pressure on opposing defenders in the attacking third. As the game progressed, she displayed an outstanding touch around the ball. Committed to Maryland.
Sophie Smith
Sophie Smith
Another tall, athletic center back that has so much potential. Also impressed with her physicality around the ball and winning ground duels. Good decision-maker.
Adriana Lika
Adriana Lika
Played the first half in goal for the East squad. Controlled the box with a big punch-out late in the first half. Also showed terrific footwork and made a handful of plays away from her goal. Quick off her line to collect some balls. Impressive distribution with a great eye to switch the field.
The experienced vet and leader on the West team. Showed exceptional athleticism while in goal. Terrific first step off her line and has great physicality around the box. Additionally, her long-ball gains plenty of distance in the air. She made two big saves in the PK shootout to secure the West victory. 2023 grad taking a gap year and has committed to Virginia.
Gracie De Haro
Gracie De Haro
Box-to-box midfielder who scored the games opening goal. The whole sequence was started and finished by her. Great 1-2 to a winger that preceded a long run into the box in transition. Heading in the cross to give the West an early lead.
