Martin was recently called up for the Philippines U17 training camp and it is well deserved. She is a great keeper with strong characteristics. She takes command of her area, especially during a PK. She’s terrific at saving shots from the spot. She plays strong, she takes over her area and is not intimidated. She shows the ability to make good reads when the ball is in the air, knows how to close down an attacker, and is really quick to transition.

The penalty shootout I was just referring to above Martin was the goalkeeper who spoiled it for Bay Area Surf . She is the PK queen. I saw her save 5 or 6 penalties for her Legends side at various points during playoffs last season. She has excellent distribution and may even have some growing left to do as well. She will be a hot commodity in this recruiting cycle.

Martin saved the day for Legends in this game. MVLA were up 1-0 and were awarded a penalty in the second half. Martin made an unbelievable save on a well struck pen to her left. Her team equalized two minutes later clearly energized by her play. She was good off her line and made a handful of other vital saves to keep her side in the lead.
