PrepSoccer Spotlight: Amaya Jackson

She pushes herself because she is willing and able, and she also works hard to silence any critics that remain.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"Over the years, there have been more than enough people to doubt me," Jackson said. "So my motivation to train harder and push myself comes from that. But honestly, I just really love the sport so my passion comes from my love of the sport."</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Jackson has a level-headed approach, which is advanced, and refreshing, coming from someone who is still just a sophomore at Brookwood High in Snellville, GA.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>She also had a fire in her belly to be the best, and she does attribute that work ethic to her parents.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"You have to work hard to get what you want, and they taught me that," Jackson said. "I'm also super competitive and I want to be the best at everything I do."</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Gwinnett Soccer Academy 2008 player also has a good perspective of the game, showing a good understanding that playing a team game is more important than going for individual glory.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"I have to remember that soccer is a team sport," Jackson said. She gets going downhill quickly as she is excellent with the ball at her feet and is not afraid to run at people.
