Dern is a forward on the Real Colorado 2010 ECNL team. She is part of the prolific attack for the Real Colorado side. She can play as a center forward or on the wing. She has been previously been featured on Prep Soccer as a top performer. She was excellent for Real Colorado recently in the game against the club’s 2009 squad. 

With a sideline full of college coaches, Dern showcased her elite attributes in the final third including her strength, quickness, and close control. She is going to be a handful for defenders during the ECNL playoffs next month. 

Julia Dern plays as a midfielder and as a forward for Real Colorado National G10. During this match, she showcased to be an attacking minded player that combines well with teammates and looks to create chances. Dern is a strong, consistent player that is quick to take space ahead of her.

In possession, she has good decision making on and off the ball. Dern has good movement to be an option and is consistent in her passing. She stays connected with the other midfielders and does well in tight areas. She makes good runs and shows in good areas to be a threat in the attacking third.

Defensively, she tracks marks and cuts passes out. Dern communicates well with the other midfielders and looks to get on the ball as soon as it’s won back. Overall, Julia Dern is a strong midfielder. She is consistent and her decision making on the ball that makes a positive impact.

Of all the players I evaluated today Dern had the best performance. She scored a game winner and provided two assists to help her side win 3-2 against a powerhouse Slammers HBK 2010 side. After going a goal down early the Real Colorado captain dragged her team back in the game. Her Real Colorado side is a contender to win it all this year.

Dern was very active on the left side of Real Colorado’s midfield, consistently getting involved in the team’s attacking plays. She made quite a few dangerous runs through the left and was very hard to dispossess when she picked up her pace. Dern also did a geat job of creating for her teammates as she always looked for them when approaching the penalty box and managed to make some good crosses. She also spent some time playing as a striker and worked well with her back to the goal.
