Schaefer is a center back on the Los Gatos 09 GA team. She also plays for the Lehigh Varsity team. Schaefer is five-foot-nine, right footed, and has excellent recovery speed. She is a weapon on set pieces with her aerial dominance and physical play – she uses her strength to her benefit. She is good with her left foot as well – she could play right or left center back. Schaefer has the size, athleticism, and quality as a passer to be a center back at the college level. She could improve on her defensive qualities to get ready for the next level. She can gamble on the tackle and rely on her recovery speed to makeup for it if the forward gets past her. She needs to limit those moments for the next level considering the margin of error is thin.
