About Ava

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My primary position is CAM and my secondary position FWD. I feel my technical skills, vision and quickness are really strong. As an attacking midfielder, I’m able to use my technical skills to dribble through crowded spaces, move the ball forward and create scoring opportunities. As a winger, I like being able to run down the sideline and use my creative skills when in 1v1 situations.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am very focused, driven and constantly work on being mentally strong. I try not to dwell on mistakes and just aim to work hard in training and during the game. My friends say I'm funny and I love celebrating a good goal.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

United Way of Kershaw County (Mobile Nutrition Program), Junior Beta Club, Rosary Club

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I volunteer as a Junior Coach at the Cardinal Newman High School Soccer Camp and recently had an opportunity to help with a local "Character Camp" for youth. I like helping kids build confidence and teach them about the importance of teamwork. At the United Way, I'm part of a great team of volunteers helping with the Mobile Nutrition Program. It's a great way to give back to the community.

What type of college are you looking for?

I would really like to play at a college that not only has a strong soccer program but also offers great academics. The coach and the coaching staff is also important to me. I would like a coach who is driven and who is able to motivate the team to work as one unit with a shared goal and togetherness.
