The #1 player in the country in the 2027 class has made her college decision and it’s not really a surprise to where. The University of North Carolina historically is the best program in the country and they just got the biggest prize in this class in DiMaria. I haven’t had the pleasure of watching her play live yet but her film speaks for itself. She is a special, special talent who has the potential to be a 100 cap full national team player in the future. I do think the NWSL will be calling before and after she steps on campus so I’m not sure if it lasts 4 years but it will be a fun watch for however long it lasts in Tarheel country.

DiMaria was the top attacking talent at the event. The SLSG star unleashed seven goals during the three games of group play. An early red card in the Round of 16 tilt was decisive in ending the run for her team, but she still left a big impression on scouts in attendance.

The reigning Gatorade National Player of the Year continues to lift her game to new heights. From a soccer family, DiMaria is enjoying her sophomore season with even more success than her debut campaign.
The superlatives and accolades go on forever with the SLSG star, but there is plenty of reason to believe this is just her scratching the surface of her potential.
Player comparison – Sam Kerr. It’s not exactly a like-for-like considering they are slightly different in positions, but DiMaria’s ruthless finishing and shooting technique is reminiscent of the global star.

DiMaria was one of the offensive forces in her team SLSG Navy, which got two wins and a loss in three matches in Dallas. Playing on the left side of the team’s frontline, she had the freedom to move in the final third and used it well to find the ball and get involved in most of its playmaking. DiMaria was extremely dangerous when she used her dribbling ability to bring the ball inside from the left into her preferred right foot as it opened up a number of possibilities, which she knew how to explore with her excellent vision and decision-making. The winger was very difficult to dispossess because of her ability to make good decisions on the fly and did well when finishing chances or setting her teammates up.

The schedule of DiMaria and her SLSG Navy G08 team in Phoenix includes matches against Concorde Fire Platinum, Solar SC and Legends FC. The team’s No. 10, she’s very skilled on the ball and is involved in most of their chance-creation. DiMaria typically starts on the left, where she has more room to beat opponents off the dribble, but often drifts inside, where her playmaking can make a bigger impact. She’s very smooth on the ball and quick with her actions and can also score at a good rate around and inside the penalty box.

Maddie is carving her own path and showing that she might be the best of all of them. She played on the left wing for the Central Team during the ECNL Conference Cup this summer. She scored four goals in the semifinal and final of the event. She was unstoppable. A two-way force that basically took over the game against the best players in that league, DiMaria has all the traits that scouts look for from a winger. With her lightning quick feet and great close control of the ball, she’s proven at the ECNL level that she is one of the best players in the 08 age group even while playing up an age group.

SLSG Navy’s No. 10 played an excellent match, getting involved with most of the team’s offense and scoring one of their goals in the match. DiMaria’s primary position was on the left, but she was very smart to drift inside and find the ball in a more central area of the field. She used some impressive body moves to elude her opponents and had some successful runs with the ball. In the play in which she scored, DiMaria displayed great intelligence to make a run into an open area inside the penalty box and superior technical skills to send it to the back of the net with a one-touch finish.
