Rivalry Classic - North Paulding vs East Paulding GHSA Boys

In a thrilling rivalry matchup between North and East Paulding, it was the North Paulding Wolfpack bringing home the 3-1 victory in front of the home fans. The Wolfpack opened the game with a wonderfully worked team goal, passing it around the box before slotting it home. Following a rebounded shot, the Wolfpack took a 2-0 lead into the half. A penalty halfway through the second half gave East Paulding their first goal of the game, but a long free kick into the box, which was headed home shortly after, gave the Wolfpack their two goal advantage back before full time.    Max is a crafty center mid who uses his quick feet to create space and play long over-the-top through balls on to strikers. He made a beautiful through ball splitting between two defenders to the left winger to start the build up in the Wolfpack's first goal. His ability and precision to play perfect passes from almost anywhere on the field makes him a real threat in the midfield. Tracks back well defensively as well, frequently getting stuck in on challenges and winning 50/50 balls.     Engel was a serious threat going forward for the Raiders the entire game. Scoring their only goal of the game from the penalty spot, Engel was putting shots on target throughout the game making the Wolfpacks keeper seriously work. With maximum energy and effort throughout the game, he is a true workhorse. His passing skills were also on display tonight, as he played a well-timed through ball to the cam who struck the post, and another great ball in to the winger in which the Raiders earned their spot kick.     Obi is a very quick striker that causes problems to opposing teams back lines with his pace. He can get on the end of many through balls, and with quick decision making and fast feet, he is hard to tackle and regain possession from. His attacking positions was great in this game, allowing him to score the second goal of the game for the Wolfpack by reading the bounce off a save from the keeper. His high energy allows him to press up high and can win possession back up the pitch for his team.     Luke is your classic box-to-box center mid who seems like he's everywhere on the pitch at all times. Whether it's linking up with the striker up top, or making tough challenges to win possession back in his own box, his high motor allows him to be a vital part of the Raiders midfield. He completed by far the most passes in the match, knocking it through passing lanes to find teammates, then making runs to receive the ball and play another Raider in. A player who really has a great read on the game in the midfield.     Eli is an elite striker with elite level finishing. He slotted home the Wolfpacks first goal of the game with a thunderous strike in the roof of the net. He also scored the last goal of the game for the Wolpack to extend their lead, as he headed home a wonderful cross from a free kick past the keeper. If he can keep getting on the end of crosses and passes up top, there's no doubt that Eli possesses the ability to consistently score at a high rate for the Wolfpack this season.
