De Wet is an attacking talent – attacking midfielder or forward. He is right-footed. He likes to play on the left side (or through the center) to use the ability to cut inside on the dribble when the chance is on. De Wet has impressed this season in MLS Next. He’s been effective and efficient on the ball. He’s quick to make decisions and does well in adapting to the pressure applied from the opposition. He works a lot off the ball to earn touches. His play has earned him an invite to Barcelona for a training opportunity in January. De Wet is originally from Washington and took part in the id2 tour as a defender. There are traits that suggest he could be a good outside back. However, his play recently with Barca in a more advanced role has really showcased his elite talent.
