Prep Soccer Texas was in attendance and on Monday, April 14, we followed a handful of Boys' matches at both the Richland College and the Moneygram Soccer Park. With the tournament now concluded, we're featuring some of the players who made a strong impression in the matches we got to watch. It's now time we cover the last position and highlight the forwards who made a difference for their teams:

Spitzer played a major role in the 5-1 victory of his team [program_tooltip program_id='283624' first='Capital' last='City SC'] U15 MLS Next over Canadian opponents Woodbridge Soccer Club 2010. Playing as a second forward, he appeared very well in the attacking half and was heavily involved in the team's offensive actions. Spitzer was very good at driving the ball forward and gained a lot of ground every time he was in possession. He was also very intelligent with his movement off the ball, consistently appearing between Woodbridge's defensive lines, and found good passes behind the backline, including the one that resulted in the team's first goal in the match.

Romero helped his team [program_tooltip program_id='283639' first='Dallas' last='Hornets'] 08B Beta produce a 2-1 win over AC Brea B08 EA2. He moved very well in the final third and was the focal point of most of his team's offensive actions in the match. In the second match, with AC Brea pushing forward and looking for an equalizer, his pace was invaluable to his team as they tried to hit in transition. Romero was very good at dribbling in tight spaces and also displayed great decision-making in the final third, making the right choices and timing his passes very well.

Yoshida was with his team Hawaii Rush 09B East in their 1-1 tie with [program_tooltip program_id='283624' first='Capital' last='City SC'] U16 MLS Next. A quick and dynamic forward, he was a constant threat to their opponents with his movement on and off the ball. Yoshida was very good at attacking the spaces available in the final third, efficiently circulating on both wings and also more centrally. He was very difficult to stop when he had the ball because of his quickness and his ability to change directions.

Hart helped his team [program_tooltip program_id='283311' first='Dallas' last='Texans'] Academy 08B ECNL beat Phoenix's FBSL Tuzos Academy 08B Elite 64 3-0. He was the focal point of his team's offense, but didn't keep his central spot up top, moving extremely well to get on the ball and create space for his teammates. Hart worked well with his back to the goal, but also displayed great ability to dribble in tight spaces and pace and intelligence to engage in combination plays out wide. The forward was also able to create problems for opposing defenders with his high-energy game and his ability to press when they had the ball.

Roland was very active in the 1-1 tie between his team Solar SC 07/08B ECNL and Bermuda's Cedar Bridge Academy. Solar trailed for almost the entire second half until getting the equalizer in the final minutes and most of their offensive attempts were run through him. Circulating very well in the final third, Roland was very good at finding spots to get on the ball and take defenders off the dribble to step into dangerous spots. While most of his teammates insisted on sending the ball into the box from anywhere, he tried to take it to the end line to make directed crosses that would be more likely to find teammates in good spots to score. Roland also displayed an interesting ability in the air, getting some deflections that generated good opportunities for his team.
