Tuesday Evening featured the Class A Division 1 Championship game between the Armuchee Indians and the Thomasville Bulldogs. The game was very end to end from the start, with both teams each scoring two well taken goals in the first half. Armuchee turned it up a notch in the second half and managed to hold onto a 4-3 victory to win the state championship. It was a fantastic contest, and below are some of the standouts from the game.

Without a doubt, Mikey is easily one of the most talented and skilled players I've covered. The center mid controls the game and just seems miles above the competition in all facets of the game. Mikey opened the scoring with a fantastic run down the left which ended n a good finish. His dribbling and skills on the ball are next to none, beating multiple defenders with ease whenever on the ball. He also uses his pace very effectively, a quick player who can outpace just about anybody on the pitch. Another nice part of Mikey's game is his vision and passing, making calculated square and through balls consistently. He tracks back well too and can make some big challenges for his side.

A striker who simply scores goals. Not only did Gabe notch 3 goals in the championship game, but it capped off an impressive season with 35 goals altogether. His goals were well taken as well, 2 of which were hard ripped shots near post past the keeper. He possesses a strong ability to finish with both his left and right foot. He uses a mix of his pace and attacking positioning to get in the right spots and capitalize in front of goal.

A tantalizing striker, Gio was causing problems for the Indians defense up top due to his quick dribbling and finishing. He scored both goals for the Bulldogs in the first half in similar fashion, by taking on and beating multiple defenders with cut backs and nice one-on-one finishes. When he gets on the ball, he is a threat to score. He uses a wide variety of skill moves when he's dribbling to confuse defenders, including some efficient step overs and chop cut backs to leave them guessing. Another striker who can also finish with both feet.

An attacking center mid, Farid thrives in the attacking third and plays his role well as the playmaker of the team. Farid uses his long frame to help him get past defenders alongside his dribbling, and he picks out some nice through balls and long balls over the top. He likes to play as almost a false 9 striker, and frequently makes runs out wide to cross balls into the box. He started lots of counter attacks for the Bulldogs in this game, using his pace and playmaking abilities to kick start attacks after winning possession.

A very quick right winger, Dimitri thrives on getting on the end of long balls out wide and driving in from the right or cutting back to his left to cross or shoot. His passing, especially his crosses, make him a real danger when on the ball out wide. The set piece taker as well, he put it some dangerous corners in the match. Dimitri also possesses a great first touch which he uses to make quick turns to get by defenders, and from there his pace is too quick to catch back up with.

A no nonsense center back, Ron thwarted lots of chances that the Indians were creating throughout the match. He wins almost every header, and makes sure to get the ball clear above all else. More often than not, when he steps in for a challenge he doesn't just stop the attacker, but makes sure he wins the ball back and plays it forward to start an attack. He makes up ground for his wide defenders when he needs to as well, and can cover plenty of space as the last man back when necessary.
