Wisconsin Top Performers: Week 6
The playoffs are less than a month away. Here are some players who are stepping up as postseason nears:
F/M Jakob Kidd, Superior, Sr.
Although Superior does not play an overly demanding schedule, Kidd has been lighting it up on the field. The senior has scored 10 goals over the last four games.
GK Omar Cendejas-Maldonado, Green Bay Notre Dame, Sr.
Cendejas-Maldonado has been excellent lately for one of the best small-school programs in Wisconsin. He has allowed only three goals in four games with two clean sheets. The 6-1 keeper has tremendous upside to play at the next level.
F Gabe Voung, Sun Prairie, Sr.
Sun Prairie has been on a role and a lot of credit goes to Voung. He scored five goals and dished five assists in four games last week.
M Antonio Jimenez, Green Bay Preble, Sr.
Green Bay Preble is quietly dominating and has risen to No. 5 in Division 1. Jimenez has been the team’s most productive piece and a sleeper candidate for All-State.
GK [player_tooltip player_id="30972" first="CJ" last="Deslongchamps"], Marquette, Jr.
Deslongchamps had three clean sheets last week, including two against Illinois powers Mount Carmel and Morton.
F [player_tooltip player_id="18515" first="Valentin" last="Sandoval"], Marquette, Sr.
Sandoval scored twice against Wauwatosa East to clinch Marquette’s 11th straight Greater Metro Conference title. He capped an excellent week with the game-winning assist in overtime against St. Thomas Aquinas (Kan.). He also scored in that game and had another goal against Morton the game prior.
