College Commitment Scout Grades Chapter 40

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Congratulations to all who have made their commitments. Now it's time for a scout grade. Some will be happy, others might be pissed off and eager to prove me wrong.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I have to give a big shout out to @ImYouthSoccer Instagram page for keeping up with these names flying off the board. Incredible work.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It is all happening so fast this year. 2026 &amp; 2027's are making their verbal commitments to different schools. I'd like to remind everyone that verbal commitments are not official until a letter of intent is signed. Players &amp; Programs flip their verbal commitments all the time throughout this process.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It's a very interesting time in American Youth Women's Soccer, as players seem to be more eager to commit to schools than in past years.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It's a fascinating system where kids can commit their futures to a program a whole 2 years before they step on campus. I will be giving out grades to recent commitments. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Please keep in mind if you are reading this and you didn't get the grade you wanted. If you have committed to play at a Division 1, 2 or 3 soccer program you are a great soccer player. Only 7% of high schoolers do what you have the opportunity to do. These grades are based on overall fit, style of play/positional need of that particular program, how the program is performing and if I believe the commitment will last 4-5 years.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I also encourage players to make their highlight reels easy to access for scouts to evaluate on their social media platforms. She has great club pedigree playing for Nationals. Ranked in the top 25 overall and a top 10 Defender in a good soccer state suggests she is at the level needed to thrive in the Patriot League. She has great club pedigree in MVLA and is an El Salvador international. The Gauchos have been hot this season with a 10-2-3 record. They have a great chance to make the NCAA Tournament. The Red Raiders are a big time outfit with funding from the Mahomes family that is really showing on the field at 10-1-2 they have a legitimate chance to make a run in the postseason. Stone shows an elite change of pace on film. Powerful athlete who projects to do very well here. Gallagher is a High School All American and her Ohio ranks suggest she has real quality to bring to the Flyers when she arrives on campus. This is a program on the rise with a 9-2-3 record this season and a chance to make the postseason. Her film is great. She's great in the air, has excellent foot work under pressure and makes good decisions out there. The Stags might need a better mascot but they are 11-1-2 and are having an amazing season. She has great composure on the ball and fits the style that has been successful for the Gauchos. She is a physical player who uses her strength exceptionally. Strikers better be aware when she's around. I like what Moncho has done so far in her career. Great club in Oklahoma Energy as well as an Oklahoma State Championship. Couldn't find much film on her but Rhodes is a great program who have had a lot of success this season at 9-1-2. The Amity High School and Connecticut FC young talent must have done something to catch the Huskies' eye during live scouting because I could find no film on her. But she is headed to The Sacred Heart Pioneers who have been red hot this season winning their last 5 games and sit at 8-5-1. They have every chance to win the MAAC and qualify for the NCAA Tournament. There must be something in this player they noticed during a live scout.
