Super athletic midfielder with high energy and competitive spirit. She has exquisite tight footwork on the ball to get out of trouble. Her Mustang side was down early against SD Surf in the Phantom division semi final today and she never stopped hustling. Gwerder has the tools to be a Power 4 player one day.

Gwerder brings a high level of quality to her game, starting with her first touch and sharp turning ability. She uses her skill set to attack defenders directly, often taking on multiple players in the final third. In addition, she recognizes the right moments to slow the tempo and isolate a defender. Just as quickly, she can shift gears and drive down the line, causing problems for the back line. Her recent invite to the U.S. Soccer Talent ID Center speaks to her potential and upward trajectory. With her combination of composure, timing, and attacking intent, Gwerder is a player to track closely at this showcase.

Gwerder is a forward on the Mustang SC U15 ECNL team. She was part of the US Soccer Regional Mini-Camp earlier this year. She’s a top attacking talent in the Northern California ECNL division.

Gwerder’s quality shines on both sides of the ball. She’s a ferocious defender. She gets into tackles and is relentless with her pressure. It’s probably not going to make her highlight reel often, but she’s a legitimately great defender for her position.

She scores goals by the buckets. She’s a fluid athlete and glides on the field. She gets through challenges with ease because she’s got great balance and always seems to be in control. She can get off a shot or pass in the blink of an eye. She’s got that top level type of quality in teh final third that very few youth players possess.
