About Ruby

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m a fast, competitive player who enjoys playing quick combinations with the midfield. I try to keep the game moving with quick passes and use my speed to create opportunities going forward. I’m also strong in the air and use my height to compete for crosses and aerial balls

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I love being part of a team and try to bring a happy, positive energy that people gravitate toward. I’m very competitive and self-motivated, and I push myself to get better every day. I’m coachable and take pride in working hard and delivering for my teammates and coaches. I’m also kind of funny.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’m on academic honor roll

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through soccer I’ve developed strong communication and leadership skills. I try to lead by example with my work rate, positivity, and competitiveness. I’ve also learned how important it is to support my teammates, stay coachable, and stay focused on improving every day.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One challenge I experienced was moving to Arizona for a year during middle school while my family helped care for my aunt who was battling cancer. It meant leaving my team, joining a new club, and adjusting to a completely new environment. That experience helped me grow by learning how to quickly connect with new teammates, adapt to a new team culture, and make an impact. When I returned to Califo

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college that will challenge me academically while also allowing me to compete at a high level in soccer. I value being part of a competitive team with a strong culture where teammates support and push each other. It’s also important to me to be at a school where I enjoy the campus environment and the location.
