About Lucy

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I can play multiple positions including 10, 8, 6, 2, 3. Primarily for my club, I play attacking midfielder. For the USYNT, I am primarily a wing back. I would describe my gameplay style as possession-based control, high-intensity pressing and quick attacks, highly technical proficiency, rapid tempo, and tactical intelligence.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I would describe my soccer mentality as a person who doesn't give up. I'm resilient, confident, motivated with also a growth mindset. I do not let losing, mistakes, or pressure stop me. Instead, I use adversity as motivation for improvement. I keep fighting until the final whistle. I pride myself on my hard work and preparation. I strive to be the best and aim for a professional soccer career.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

National Honors Society Business Club

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I am a leader on my soccer teams. I do this by setting the example of being disciplined, consistent, and hard working. I am the first to arrive and the last to leave. I provide constructive feedback and encourage teammates. I am involved in multiple areas of community service by my favorite is working with SPENSA, a non-profit St. Louis based soccer program for young people with disabilities.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, last year, I tore my ACL, which completely sidelined me from soccer and required surgery. Soccer is a huge part of my life and that loss was devasting. Instead of giving up, I chose to apply the same discipline I had on the field to my rehabilitation. The result was not only a successful physical comeback but also building a much stronger mindset.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a Power 4 conference college like ACC, SEC, Big Ten and Big 12. I want to play for a top ranked program while I obtain my degree.
