About Mia

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a power player who excels in natural athleticism, explosive speed and strength. This helps me win 1v1 situations (heading, tackling and intercepting) as a center back. As a forward I use my strength to hold off opponents and speed to separate from my opponent. My height helps me win headers consistently. I am a physical force on the field that changes the pace of the game.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a very positive player and like to keep the game fun. I encourage my teammates even when we are down a goal or make a mistake. I am very confident on the field and get into my game mode which helps me stay calm under pressure and keep my composure. My focus during games is unmatched. I can be goofy as well and always make my teammates laugh.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I will be joining the peer leadership program at St Charles East High School as a freshman and have religious education once a week at my church. Outside of soccer I go to Power Athletics to weight lift, do agility and learn injury prevention.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I consider myself a leader on my team. I am proactive and take initiative to make the next play. I read situations to anticipate and make quick decisions under pressure.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, tight spaces and my technical ability has always been a challenge. While I excel at dribbling and passing, my first touch is something I need to work on. I consistently work outside of practice to get extra touches on my rebounder and juggling. I get better every day.

What type of college are you looking for?

I would love to play D1 at a Big 10 school. I know I need to continue to work hard everyday to reach that goal.
