About Amita

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

As a right back I take pride in reading the game before it happens. I play with a lot of intensity but I try to be smart about it. I’d rather make the right read than a flashy tackle and I let my positioning do most of the work. At the end of the day I’m a team first player; not just playing my spot but thinking about the whole picture.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m someone who takes coaching seriously and isn’t afraid to be challenged. I’ve learned that growth on the field starts with growth off it; in mindset, discipline, and how you carry yourself. When it’s time to compete I’m locked in and I want to win, but I genuinely love this game and you’ll always find me smiling out there. Soccer brings out the best in me and I never want to lose that.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a member of the CJSF Honor Society and have maintained a 4.0 GPA, which earned me an academic achievement recognition. I also received an outstanding student award in language arts. Outside of soccer I am currently preparing for my first degree black belt in martial arts, which has taught me a lot about discipline, focus, and mental toughness. Values I carry onto the field every day.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

The biggest skill I’ve developed is honestly just learning how to push through when things get hard. Balancing soccer, academics, and martial arts has forced me to grow up in a lot of ways; managing my time, staying disciplined, and not making excuses. Those aren’t just skills, they’ve become part of who I am.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One of my biggest challenges has been the mental side of the game. Learning to tune out negativity from others and from myself. It has been a real journey. After a mistake it’s easy to get stuck in your head but I’ve learned to hold my head up, move on, and trust the process. It’s still a work in progress but the growth has been real.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a program that invests in the whole person. Not just the athlete. Strong academics matter to me and I want an environment that challenges me to grow as a player and as a person. I want coaches who genuinely care about who their players are off the field, not just on it.
