Playmakers Shine at ECNL Playoffs: Six Can't Miss Athletes

The ECNL National Playoffs and Finals are cruising right along at 60 acres park in Redmond, WA this week! The weather has been hot but the play on the pitch has been hotter! Teams are advancing in the tournament bracketing for their respective age groups and we are starting to see the elite athletes really put on a show.   With the 2026 ECNL National Title on the line for these clubs, teams and athletes, the separation of the true powerhouse teams and athletes are starting to become evident. The next few days of matches are going to be intense as we wind down to the final 4 and ultimately the Championship matches at the end of the week. It is going to be a blast!   Here are 6 athletes that have been rising above the rest this week:    Sarantakos has been battling during these ECNL Playoffs and providing highlights in every match. Her drive is relentless and she provides dangerous pressure anytime the opposing team is stuck on their defensive half. Aphrodite is very physical and wins a high percentage of 50/50 balls. The Arkansas Razorback commit is a force with the ball at her feet and has the ability to score at a moment's notice. She is going to be a player that does big things at the next level.     Breanna is a great forward who can play multiple roles on the pitch and make an impact at each. She has a high motor that never seems to quit, and that type of play is infectious. Breanna's cross game is on point and consistently places passes and crosses into dangerous spots. She is also not shy when it comes to taking chances on frame. Mender and her SUSA team have battled each match this week taking their opponents to PK's each time. They have been on the unfortunate end of the score sheet but will look to finish strong in their 3rd and final match.     Tunley is a young and talented forward with the FC Dallas Youth ECNL G12/13 team. She has burst speed into space with stellar ball control. Layla's physicality is evident under pressure and rarely concedes possession. She is a menace in the box and had a great put back score this week after a GK deflection/save. Layla is fun to watch and may develop into one of the top players in her class if she continues on this trajectory.     Ainsley is a fierce competitor that makes any attacking group better. Her ability to traverse through the midfield and defense single handedly is apparent. Her long frame and advanced skill moves, make her difficult to manage while she weaves through pressure. Bobby has great field vision and slots passes and through balls well. Her Michigan Hawks G12 team did not get to the big match they wanted this Nationals, but the future is bright for Ainsely and her G12 squad as the years progress.     Jennings is a strong and physical GK with tons of potential to be one of the top GK's in her class. Being on a [program_tooltip program_id='283476' first='Slammers' last='FC'] HB Koge squad is already a testament to her skill but showing out in big matches is the real test. Kali has a great sense of her penalty area and commands every inch. She has a great voice and gives direction when needed. Kali possesses good hands and a strong distribution game out of the back. Her powerful leg can get clearances to the attacking players to take pressure off her defense. Jennings put on a show in a PK shootout versus a good Portland Thorns G13 team. She had 2 big saves, one top hand and one low to corner which showed her fantastic range. The best is yet to come for Kali.     Haylie and her SD Surf G12 squad have been racking up wins and goals during the ECNL Playoffs this week. Jackson provides a spark every time she touches the ball. Her speed on the dribble and accompanied skill moves to break away from pressure, is something you see at the older age groups. Haylie is dangerous in the box and has great accuracy and touch when shooting on frame. Haylie and her team are looking to be back-to-back ECNL National Champions in 2026!
