, South County, Class of 2022
Curry is an absolute handful to deal with on the outside. Plays on the right side and is always moving without the ball to find open space. Capable of beating defenders 1v1 and likes to go to the outside and provide service back into the box. In a match-up of 2021 state champions vs First Colonial scored the game-winner in the first extra-time period by making a back post run down the right and finished from close range on a high cross that she handled easily. Plays for Virginia Union in the ECNL and is committed to Dartmouth.
MID Perrin Battafarana, First Colonial, Class of 2022
Normally a midfielder, but due to a teammate’s injury in pregame, Perrin was moved to a defensive role on the back line and also played in the 6 for a good portion of the game. Playing against reigning Class 6 state champion South County, she was up to the task and did well to shut down attackers in the middle of the pitch. Plays with both feet and is calm when in possession. Was impressed with her overall ability to play wherever her coach needed her skillset. Physical player who wins 50/50 balls. Plays for Beach FC and is uncommitted but is looking to play at the next level.
FWD Skyler Miller Skyler Miller M VA , First Colonial, Class of 2024
Helped lead FC to their second state championship in 2021. Plays for Richmond United and was the 2000/2001 ECNL Mid-Atlantic 2005 player of the year. Has all the tools; tactical, technical, physical, psychological, and character. Sounds like a cliche but Skyler is a complete footballer who has a motor that doesn’t stop. A technically gifted forward, can play facing goal or with her back to it. If defenders don’t support, she will score. 2021 All-Tidewater first team as a freshman.
MID Sydney Miller Sydney Miller null | F State VA , First Colonial, Class of 2024
Converted the winning penalty for FC in its 2021 state championship final. Along with her twin sister Skyler, she plays for 2005 Richmond United ECNL where she was named second-team all-conference (Mid-Atlantic). Has all to tools and is an elite player. Plays on the outside to utilize her speed and quickness but she is just as lethal with defenders in tight spaces. 1v1 skills are incredible and will throw crossovers at defenders at speed. Goes in hard on challenges and 50/50 balls. 2021 All-Tidewater first team as a freshman.
