About Melody

What's your biggest strength as a player, and how does it show up in games?

My biggest strength is my ability to create chances and make things happen in the attack. I love taking defenders on, pressing to win the ball back, making runs behind the defense, and creating opportunities for myself and my teammates. I’m also very competitive and physical and I’m not afraid to play against older or stronger players.

What are you working to improve right now?

I’m really focused on improving my finishing and becoming more consistent in front of goal. I’ve been spending extra time outside of practice working on finishing with both feet, placement, and different types of shots. I’m also working on making quicker decisions and improving my speed of play.

What are you looking for in a college program?

I’m looking for a competitive program where I’ll be challenged every day and surrounded by players and coaches who want to have fun and keep getting better. I love attacking soccer and want to play for a team that plays with intensity, presses, and encourages creativity.

Outside of your sport, what should coaches know about you?

I’m the third of six kids, so family is a huge part of my life, and I grew up in a competitive house where there is always something going on. I love being around people, having fun, and trying new things. Outside of sports, I’m really creative and especially enjoy fashion design, drawing and painting, and cooking.

What do you want to study, and what career interests you?

Sports are my biggest passion, so I would love to study something that could lead to a career in sports. I’m also really interested in fashion design, fine arts, and culinary arts, and I could see myself studying or building a career in any of those areas. I’m still exploring exactly what I want to do, but I know I want a career connected to something I’m passionate about.
