U17 WNT moves closer to World Cup with win
<p class="p1">The U.S. U17 Women’s National Team moved one step closer to qualification to the 2022 U17 Women’s World Cup on Saturday with a decisive victory over Curaçao in the Round of the 16 of the 2022 Concacaf U17 Championship. Onyeka Gamero scored 23 seconds into the game and USA never slowed down on the way to a 11-0 win.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p>

<p class="p1">[player_tooltip player_id="22756" first="Nicollette" last="Kiorpes"] finished the day with three goals with her first tally being the best - a wonderful heel flick into the goal. [player_tooltip player_id="18947" first="Onyeka" last="Gamero"], who assisted the aforementioned Kiorpes goal, scored three in the victory. Captain Mia Bhuta scored twice on two long-range rockets, her first two goals of the tournament. Fourteen of the 20 players on the USA roster for the tournament have now scored at least one goal through the four games so far.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p>
<p class="p1">USA is back in action on Wednesday in the quarterfinal round of the competition. Only three teams from the region qualify for the World Cup, so two more victories are still required to achieve the first goal the team set out to accomplish at this event. <span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p>
