Here are some standouts from the past two weeks in Wisconsin girls soccer. GK Kate Nonn, Divine Savior-Holy Angels, Sr. Her terrific goalkeeping stole the show in Iowa this weekend at the Tournament of Champions. Nonn and the back line did not concede a goal in three games this past weekend against elite-level programs. She demonstrated calmness and composure. She did a great job commanding the back line throughout the weekend. She made three saves in a scoreless draw with Eureka (Mo.) on Friday. Later that night, she made five saves to take down Pleasant Valley (Iowa) 1-0. GK Ella Kratochvil, Muskego, Jr. She’s stepped up the past few weeks. She hasn’t conceded a goal in the last two weeks while making a combined 12 saves, including one from the PK spot. Kratochvil’s a very athletic goalkeeper. Her 6-0 frame gives her excellent size and allows her to make some difficult saves. What stands out most is her quickness and versatility. She gets that from previously playing striker. F [player_tooltip player_id="28527" first="Lucia" last="Englund"], Whitefish Bay, Jr. Englund has stepped up for the Lady Dukes after the core of their undefeated championship run graduated. She was recently voted player of the week from the Milwaukee Journal. England has a tremendous amount of speed up top with a dangerous strike. She started a tremendous run with a goal and an assist over Sussex Hamilton. That was followed by scoring a game-winner in the second half to beat Shorewood 1-0. A goal and an assist over Eisenhower ended a terrific run of games. F [player_tooltip player_id="28477" first="Zoe" last="Hevey"], Pewaukee, Jr. Hevey has played tremendous all season for the third-ranked team in Division 2. She’s been a goal-scoring machine as of late and putting the nail in the coffin early and often against conference opponents. A four-goal performance up top in a recent win over Brookfield Academy headlines the list of recent outings. She had another four-goal performance later on over Cudahy. She makes the job easier for her teammates. Hevey has excellent control and makes great runs in space. F [player_tooltip player_id="28503" first="Eiley" last="Henderson"], Kettle Moraine, So. Henderson is playing really well lately for Kettle Moraine. She’s been super explosive up top and has great playmaking abilities. After a hat-trick in a 5-1 win, she assisted twice en route to a 4-0 win at Arrowhead. Most recently, the sophomore scored both goals, including the game-winner, to take down Verona 2-1. Henderson plays with lots of confidence up top and makes a huge impact to her team. M [player_tooltip player_id="28475" first="Sophia" last="King"], Homestead, Sr. This is a sleeper candidate for player of the year. King makes so many positive contributions in every single game as Homestead remains unbeaten. Recently, she scored twice to take down Oshkosh West 4-1. A few days later, she scored the game-winning goal over Slinger to win 1-0. King saved her best performance for this past Saturday. Against Holmen, she assisted three times and scored to win 4-1.
