With many of the top 2024s already making their verbal commitments, the class of 2025 is quickly earning the major spotlight. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>With a number of ECNL conferences in action over the last few months leading up to the first National Event for the older age groups in Arizona, the film on this class is readily available for many of the teams. Below is a breakdown of seven players from the ECNL's 2007 age group (2025/2026 graduates) who have impressed and were not previously on the PrepSoccer State or National Rankings. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"id":"block_635058f8bf287","name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["24614"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"Brinker is a center back who impressed as a weapon on set pieces. She wins her aerial duels, but better than that she does well in tracking the flight of the ball. She showed that she will adjust her runs and find the right spot to be to get a header on the ball. She won the header on the first two corner kicks (in the attacking half) against Richmond, which included scoring a goal. In possession, she has a strong right foot and tends to take most free kicks for her side. She can easily switch the point of attack. Defensively, she is strong in the tackle and does well as the center of the backline. She is a central defender who looks like she could also play outside back if needed. She is excellent in 1v1 defending. She uses her body well to shield players off the ball. Her anticipation for where to be defensively is very good. She is always buzzing around the ball. The enthusiasm and energy will transfer levels. She has skill too, which makes an intriguing prospect. She could play any spot in the attacking four (7, 9, 11, or 10). She has quick feet and does well in combination play when she plays as the 9. Out wide, she is good at pressing outside backs and can finish for a variety of angles. She hit a pinpoint accurate ball that split two defenders and hit her targets correct foot in the first half against FC Wisconsin. It was a pass that most would not attempt and fewer would complete. Defensively, she showed well in how she read the game. She hardly had to put in a tackle because she was in the right spot to stop the move before it progressed. She is a left center back to know from the 2025 class - Poretto was on the Watch List for the 2025 National Rankings, but she could be one to quickly climb up the list in the next update.","_player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_4_player":["61680"],"_player_evaluations_4_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"u003c!u002du002d wp:paragraph u002du002du003ernrnCaprez is a goalkeeper who moved from SC Wave to FC Wisconsin this season, which meant she switched from Girls Academy to ECNL. She was a highly successful keeper in the GA while leading her team to the playoffs last season. Caprez popped up on the radar for her first half showing against Eclipse. She made a couple of great saves on low shots that required diving efforts. She also showed good vocal command of her team with loud instructions on when she was coming out for the ball and when she was letting the defenders handle the situation. She did well in shutting down the breakaway chance with the timing of her movement off the line. She is a two-way player who is a dominant force on the field. She does well in her defensive approach as she runs through the ball and puts in tackles for her side. She is also a battler for 50/50 balls. She did well in possession as well as she connected a few passes between the lines. She is a bit more aggressive in her approach as Poretto can sit back and let Philbin get involved in tackles and stepping up a level to pressure a forward who dropped a line. The mobility and athleticism of Philbin to track those players is a major asset. Once her team wins possession, Philbin is immediately an option. She moves swiftly to open up to her teammates and provide them with that back pass if needed to break pressure. Her tactical instincts are excellent for a young player.
