Six Players to Know from Arizona’s 2025 Rankings

This is the first ranking for this class in Arizona. She is a student of the game and because of her strong technical base (first touch, ball control, and lower body strength) she can play a variety of rolls at the next level. She combines well with her teammates, which gives her the high ceiling from the attacking midfield role. She also is excellent in 1v1 situations while playing with the ball at her feet because she is clever and has a number of tricks to her arsenal. She could be an excelletn winger at the next level. She has some accolades to her credit including a call-up to the Youth National Team Talent Identification event this year. She is even a step better than that level. She is an outstanding center midfielder from the 2025 class - and the potential is there for her to be even more at the next level. She plays as a defensive midfielder and she's the catalyst for her side. She reads the game like a coach and always seems to be in the right spot. She plays simply and beautifully. I love the way she scans the field before receiving the ball. She has the ball striking technique to hit a pinpoint pass to anywhere on the field. Brown is another midfielder. She is part of the Phoenix Rising 05/04 (U18/19) team this season in the ECNL. She is one of the few players in this class who is playing at that level this season. She is a box-to-box center midfielder. She is behind a talented goalkeeper at the high school level with senior [player_tooltip player_id='18671' first='Lexi' last='Saveski'] leading the way at Perry High School in Gilbert, but Lujan is the next in line at the school. The sophomore goalkeeper earned her spot on this list due to her play at the club level with Arizona Arsenal in ECNL. Lujan is brave off her line. She is a charging goalkeeper who is excellent in breakaway situations. She does a good job in commanding her box and being aggressive on crosses. She has good hands and does well on high shots. With 42 goals in 21 games (according to MaxPreps), she was one of the most prolific attackers in all of Arizona last season. The stats are not the reason Peterson is on this list. The game film shows that she has the potential to take her game to the next level. She was a dominant force against defenses in high school. There is reason to believe she can find similar success at the next level. She has pace, strength, and a good finisher's instinct - those elements translate up in levels.
