One of the most popular and exciting high school tournaments in the state of Texas, the I-10 Shootout has progressed on Friday, with second-round matches taking place across eight high school campuses in the Katy area and the finalists of each bracket are now confirmed.

Prep Soccer was in attendance for two of those encounters and here's what we saw:

CLEMENTS 2 - 1 DEER PARK

The Fort Bend Clements Rangers from Sugar Land secured a spot in the final of the bracket held at Taylor High School against the home team by coming out on top of a close match with the Deer Park Deer, which they won 2-1.

The Rangers found the back of the net for the first time at the 25th-minute mark in the first half with freshman midfielder Jocelyn Kianka collecting a loose ball in the penalty box and putting it on the back of the net. Kianka did it again in the second half, stretching her right leg to connect with a cross from junior forward Chloe Le and beat Deer Park's sophomore goalkeeper Kamryn Shamblin.

The Deer got one back in the second half, with senior defender Abigal Scott scoring from a long-range free kick, but couldn't find another goal and force a penalty shootout.

https://x.com/grtorres/status/1614044157294804993?s=20&t=vMn1GP_jL5ie_DuH5_NXnA

Players of the Match
<!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":["not_in_db"],"_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_0_player_details_selected_featured_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_player_details_selected_featured_image":"field_62cca28ffa4e7","player_evaluations_0_player_details_player_name":"Jocelyn Kianka","_player_evaluations_0_player_details_player_name":"field_62aba4c9ecf2f","player_evaluations_0_player_details_graduating_class":"2026","_player_evaluations_0_player_details_graduating_class":"field_62aba4ddecf30","player_evaluations_0_player_details_height":"null","_player_evaluations_0_player_details_height":"field_62aba4e8ecf31","player_evaluations_0_player_details_position":"102","_player_evaluations_0_player_details_position":"field_62aba4f0ecf32","player_evaluations_0_player_details_school":"Fort Bend Clements","_player_evaluations_0_player_details_school":"field_62aba4fdecf33","player_evaluations_0_player_details_club_team":"Albion Hurricanes FC","_player_evaluations_0_player_details_club_team":"field_62d20e723441a","player_evaluations_0_player_details":"","_player_evaluations_0_player_details":"field_62aba4afecf2e","player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"The two goals she scored make Kianka the obvious choice to start the list, but she did a lot more from the Rangers during the 80 minutes. She centralized the team's playmaking and was frequently fed the ball in the center of the field. Kianka did a very good with it, finding good passes and displaying an interesting ability to dribble in tight spaces. She also had great timing with her runs into the penalty box and got on the end of two plays to score.
