About Javier
Expert Analysis
Guilherme Torres | Prep Soccer Scout
An intelligent and technical player, Caro plays a big role in the Dynamo’s offense, getting involved in most of the chances created by the team. He likes to play more centrally, either at the striker role or as a second forward, and stands out for his excellent movement and decision-making. Caro is not a player who will keep the ball for too long, and he doesn’t need much time on it to make an impact in the game, thanks to his excellent vision in the final third. He consistently appears in good spots around the penalty box and often unlocks opposing backlines with soft passes. Caro also has a good presence inside the penalty box, is a lethal finisher, and does a great job of tracking plays to get to rebounds or appear near goalkeepers when they spill balls.

The forward had a very active shift, getting involved in four of the team’s goals – he scored one, assisted in two and drew the free kick that resulted in the seventh goal. Caro served as the reference for the Dynamo’s offense and connected very well with the players around him, especially Betancourt, who was their most offensive-minded midfielder. He was always very intelligent on and off the ball and explored extremely well the space available, be it by dropping deeper to get on the ball or by drifting wide. Caro ended the match in central midfield and initiated some dangerous transition plays near the end of the match.

The attacking midfielder had a great match, making a difference for the Dynamo with two goals and an assist. Caro played right behind the team’s striker and engaged in good combination plays through the middle, finding good quick passes to connect with teammates in dangerous spots. His game was very simple and effective, displaying a high soccer IQ and great quality on the ball. Caro showed great presence and positioning inside the penalty box, picking up rebounds to score twice, and played well with his back to the goal, assisting Bell. He found the back of the net a third time during the second half with a header, but the goal that would have given him a hat-trick was called off due to an offside.
