In doing so, the Golden Bears became the first public school to pull off that feat since Aliso Niguel in 2012, a team that also finished No. 1 in the FAB 50. Temecula Valley avenged its only loss by beating Santiago in the Southern Section final. The team capped its season with a 4-1 win over San Marcos in the SoCal Regional final. Mitchell, an East Carolina signee, assisted two goals. Junior Camryn Vehlow scored twice and had one assist. |

The team also defeated FAB 50-ranked Buchanan. Senior Paige Calif has signed with Pittsburgh. Junior Jessica Ramnirez has committed to Arizona. Both were first-team all-Southern Section selections. |

San Marcos won the San Diego section and on the way to the regional final knocked out Top 25 ranked Villa Park. Junior Gabrielle Prych was named the San Diego Section Player of the Year. Northeastern signee Vanessa Linke was a first-team pick and Oregon State Madison Paolini was a second-team selection.

NOTES: Point Loma's last two losses were in shootouts to San Marcos. The first occurred in the San Diego Section final, then less than a week later, Point Loma again was edged by San Marcos in PKs in the SoCal regional semifinals. Point Loma edged Corona Santiago in the regional quarterfinals. Sisters Caitlin and Corrine Wilson were first-team all-San Diego sections and both have signed with UC San Diego.

NOTES: Santiago, after finishing as the Souther Section runner-up to Temecula Valley, was upset by Point Loma in the SoCal Regional quarterfinals. The team was led by a trio of All-CIF Southern Section first-teamers: CS Fullerton signee Kaitlyn Taylor, senior Haley Clark and sophomore Krystal Medina.
Season complete. Mississippi Class 6A state champion. School Facts: Public, 1,680 students, grades 9-12. NOTES: Led by junior prospect KK Morris, Northwest Rankin won the Class 6A final over Clinton 2-0. Morris ended the season with nearly 30 goals. In the state quarterfinals, Northwest Rankin stunned previously undefeated Gulfport 2-1 in overtime.

NOTES: Gulfport offered one of the most stacked rosters to ever come out of the Southeast region. The team rolled through the regular season, which included a 4-1 thrashing of eventual Louisiana state champ St. Mary's Dominican, before falling to Northwest Rankin in the state quarterfinals. The team was led by Ole Miss signee Kate Smith and also featured NC State commit Mary Frances Symmes, along with Southern Mississippi commits Abby Badurak and Laylah Johnson.
Season complete. California SoCal Division I quarterfinalist. Southern Section Division I semifinalist. School Facts: Public, 2,300 students, grades 9-12. NOTES: After New Year's, Villa Park was unstoppable — until its final two matches. The team saw a 13-match undefeated streak end with a 2-1 Southern Section semifinal loss to Corona Santiago. Then, in the opening round of the Southern Regional, Villa Park lost to eventual runner-up San Marcos 1-0. In the postseason, Villa Park handed Claremont its only loss of the year. The team also defeated FAB 50-ranked Buchanan. Senior Paige Calif has signed with Pittsburgh. Junior Jessica Ramnirez has committed to Arizona. Both were first-team all-Southern Section selections.
Season complete. California Southern Section Division I quarterfinalist. School Facts: Private, 1,600 students, grades 7-12. NOTES: Harvard-Westlake's season ended with a 2-0 loss to Los Alamitos in the Southern Section Division I quarterfinals. After being one of the top teams in the nation last year, this year's squad had to play without two of its Youth National Team stars and still ended among the Top 25. Daniela Quintero, a two-sport standout, and freshman Victoria Pugh were named to the Southern Section Division I all-CIF first team.
Season complete. Florida Class 5A state champion. School Facts: Public, 1,550 students, grades 9-12. NOTES: Brooke Yount and Gloria Quintanilla scored the goals that carried Mariner to a 2-0 victory over Naples in the 5A state final. The team lost twice to North Fort Myers (once on penalty kicks) and once to Naples then avenged those losses with playoff wins over those teams. Considering all six Mariner all-state honorees are underclass players, this team figures to be strong again in 2022-2023.
Season complete. Florida Class 5A regional semifinalist. School Facts: Public, 1,875 students, grades 9-12. NOTES: Led by Florida Atlantic signee Michelle Horan, North Fort Myers rolled to an undefeated season until a playoff loss to Mariner. During the regular season, North Fort Myers defeated 6A state runner-up Lourdes and 5A runner-up Naples. In addition, North Fort Myers had two wins over the eventual 5A champ Mariner before the teams' third meeting.

NOTES: Claremont's undefeated run ended with a 1-0 loss to Villa Park in the section playoffs. Before that setback, Claremont had allowed only five goals in its first 21 matches. Seattle signee Bella Bonnett led the team in goals.
