An attacking-minded player, he’s very good at creating space with his dribbling and immediately taking advantage of it to take the ball forward. A lefty, Medina drives the ball well and is very difficult to dispossess. He also makes a major impact in the attacking half, making the right choices when on the ball and executing difficult passes to get it to his teammates.

Medina is a forward who shows that he can combine raw talent with understanding of nuance. He can score tremendous goals, he has agility and quickness but he also does other things that helps the team put pressure on defenses. He combines well with his teammates, he shows good anticipation and awareness which allows him to be in dangerous spots or help create for his teammates.

The Galaxy striker made the most of his semifinal appearance, blasting home from 25 yards out to open the scoring in the second semifinal. It was a sensational strike, and he made the most of the space and time Atlanta afforded him by curling it into the side netting. That was the pinnacle of Medina’s performance, but the striker did show his ability throughout the match, putting himself in good positions and combining well enough to earn the assist on Galaxy’s second goal as well. A stellar showing by Medina as he leads his squad through to the final.
