About Aubrey

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

As a goalkeeper, I focus on intelligent positioning, quick decision-making, and strong distribution to support my team’s build-up play. I strive to be more than just a shot-stopper by helping control the flow of the game, initiating attacks, and communicating effectively with my teammates. My goal is to be a reliable last line of defense and a key part of the team’s overall strategy.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am kind, caring, and always strive to be a model student, athlete, and citizen. I am a good friend, teammate and companion and am sensitive to the needs of others. I have a natural curiosity that fuels my passion for learning. As a perfectionist, I push myself to reach the highest levels in both academics and athletics through grit and determination.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in gifted and advanced classes and a member of the National Junior Honor Society. I was selected for the National History Day Silent Heroes Project and competed in the National History Day competition with a project on Chernobyl. I have also received citizenship awards and earned two scholarships from the Len Mattiace Foundation’s "Stop the Bullying" campaign.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed strong leadership skills both on and off the field. I lead by example through my dedication to training, competition, and academics. As a goalkeeper, I help organize and communicate with my team during games, and in the classroom, I set a standard by working hard and maintaining high academic achievement.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced is balancing a demanding academic schedule with the commitments of playing highly competitive soccer. At times, I struggled with performance, but I’ve learned to overcome it through focus, time management, and extra training/studying. I’m grateful for my strong family support system that helps me stay on track and lifts me up when I am down.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a highly selective college or university with a strong reputation both academically and athletically. I want a school that offers rigorous academics, competes at a high level in soccer, and has a strong biomedical engineering program. I would prefer to stay in the Southeastern U.S., but I am open to schools outside the region if it’s the right fit academically and athletically.
