Expert Analysis

The Davis Legacy Goalkeeper is staying in the Northern California and headed St Mary’s University in 2026. One of the top shot stoppers in her class McLin took a while to make her decision but finally decided on the Gael’s. She is as solid as they come with no glaring weaknesses and a tall long frame that she definitely utilizes well. As a program St Mary’s have had an excellent season thus far and with two more wins they will win the WCC outright and qualify for the NCAA Tournament. I think this is an outstanding fit and Mclin could be a day 1 starter as soon as she arrives on campus.

She was another player who did well at COPA’s Talent ID DAY in July. Her range of play allowed her to cut off angled runs by speedy forwards trying to make runs into the net. Fearless is one of the words I think of every time I see her play. Her ability to pull down top level shots or crosses up high is where she stands out. McLin also participated in the NorCal Premier U17 Girls PDP tour against clubs in England. She was a big part of her team’s impressive 4-0 finish against top level European teams. Aubrey is a class of 2026 who hasn’t made a commitment yet, but I’m sure that many teams have her on their radar. Looking forward to evaluating her during the upcoming ECNL season.

I swear she’s even taller than the last time I saw her in Phoenix. She’s a big intimidating force between the pipes who has improved with her feet immensely. Her range of distribution is vast off the ground as well as with her drop kicks.

McLin was the goalkeeper who made a lot of saves as wave after wave of surf runs kept spilling in from the channels. She showed her range and technique by taking flight on one really close top left corner shot. Aubrey wasn’t going to let that one get by as she covered one of the most difficult spots to score from. She definitely kept at least 4 goals off the board. Although she has not made a commitment, she has a lot of choices and has been active in the recruiting process. Who knows, she might be another Hawaii commit or even look into UH-Hilo, another Hawaii ranked college program. Aubrey is also one of our Prep Soccer Girls ID Camp: NorCal 2024 standouts.

The Davis star was once again outstanding for her club side. She lead her team to two shutout victories from the event. McLin and her Davis side only conceded one goal from the event. She was exceptional at punching away services into the box.

When it comes to Goalkeepers McClin is establishing herself as best in class in this conference. Another shutout for McClin against Marin FC and her comfort in possession is improving drastically. Distributing the ball with comfort and precision. She gets a lot of action in this very competitive conference and she keeps this Davis side competitive.

The Great Wall of Davis was at it again this weekend. Her Davis Legacy squad took on a very good Bay Area Surf team. Surf are the superior team in almost every facet and should be beating Davis. However, that’s why we play the games ladies and gentlemen! Aubrey was flying around between the pipes making play after to play to help secure her team an unexpected 3-1 win.

Very tall and strong keeper. She plays even taller than she is as her wingspan seems to be even longer then her height. Posted a shootout in the 11 v 11 and made a couple of outstanding saves in order for that to happen. Solid distribution and good communicator.

McLin makes so many saves that her annual list of top saves only has bangers that any goalkeeper would be proud of making in a game. McLin has a strong technical foundation as a goalkeeper. She does well in setting her base before she jumps which gives her the power to reach the high shots. She also showed a good awareness of her goal and made good reads on shots. McLin looks to be one of the top talents coming from Northern California in this class.
