Ava is the GK you want commanding your defense. She has the size, skills and voice to manage anything that is thrown her way. Her Bethesda G10 team competed in the Showcase Cup this year and didn’t get the results they wanted however, Ava shined when put to task. Her clearances are timely and accurate and has a voice that commands attention. Simpson has fantastic foot skills in and out of the box and is confident with the ball at her feet. She can even make an attacker miss with a quick, speedy touch to open up space to distribute. Ava has fantastic hands and can cover anything between the posts. This Tennessee commit is destined for great things.

Simpson is a goalkeeper for Bethesda SC 2010 ECNL. She has been part of US Soccer Talent ID events over the past two years. She is five-foot-nine, athletic, and lightning quick. Simpson’s provided more highlight reel saves than almost any other keeper in this class. She is fearless, which is a key trait for the position. She will throw her body in front of any shot. She has been excellent at getting finger tip saves – both in aerial dives and when diving on the ground for a last minute block on an effort. Simpson’s shown the quality at the ECNL level to be considered an elite difference-maker for the position. 

Bethesda finished the event with three shutouts. Simpson only let in one goal from the four games. The Bethesda goalkeeper enjoyed a stellar defense in front of her, but she had her highlight reel moments too. I thought she wasn’t asset in possession for her team and was confident on the ball. Simpson has the quality to be a player to know from this age group for a long time.
