Sumner is one of those players that helps the team run and without her, they would not be the same. She’s an engine at the No. 6 spot, as she does it all. She plays the ball accurately and quickly, knowing when to ping it out wide or when to play it into space into the middle of the pitch. She likes to then continue on down the pitch and make herself available to her teammates. She’s also very good defensively as she adds a ton of value in her ability to thwart attacks, to disrupt and to really break up an opponents attack in the midfield before it really gets started.

After a good season and a great showing in Norco at the GA Playoffs, Sumner jumps in to the rankings. She can act as a pivot No. 6, but she can also carry the ball down the pitch and be a force in space. She plays a good ball out wide and will continue to occupy space and make herself an available threat before tracking back. She’s very tough minded, battling with attacking mids and forwards, winning most of her duels. She tackles very well, she works incredibly hard in the midfield and she also flashes very good speed and technical skills.
