Expert Analysis
Matt Smith | Prep Soccer Scout
Oder will be heading to Duke after her final season at Oaks Christian. If you are an opposing defense, and you let her get 1v1 with a defender, you are in deep trouble. Not only is she athletic with long strides, but she possesses the incredible ability to change pace and direction, and do so quickly and easily. Oder is a true finisher, as she can bury the ball in the roof, in an upper V and score from tight angles. She can pressure defender into mistakes, and she also possesses the great speed to get in behind defenders, get on the end of a ball without losing stride and finish with one touch.

RCM: She was absolutely, dominant in the championship game against a very good Legends team. They had no answer for her. She not only scored two great goals but facilitated the game like a seasoned pro. I’m really liking who Duke is brining into their program.

Oder was prolific in the attack for Beach FC. The winger is tricky to contain. Her dribbling and body feints make her one of the toughest players to defend in the ECNL. She showed this against San Juan as she created chances for herself and her team.

Oder had a breakout campaign with Oaks Christian, but the signs were there pretty early on that she was going to be one to watch prior to entering the high school varsity level. She was a star at the club level and found success on the state select teams as well. Oder is a dynamic attacking talent. She is difficult to mark as she has a quick-burst and does well in creating space with her change of pace. She earned the attention of Youth National Team scouts and was called up to the U.S. U15 Women’s Youth National Team – and a spot on the ECNL National Selection Team for the 06/07.
