Clark was recently listed as one of the top defenders in Georgia and she’ll be able to show why this weekend, when her GSA G08 team faces Michigan Hawks Magic, Beach FC and FC Wisconsin in Phoenix. She’s a stud defensively, knowing how to use each of her tools to win the ball back, be it by knocking opponents off of plays with her strong upper body or making perfect slide tackles. She’s also very resilient and, if she’s beaten, she’ll always come back to try and win the ball again. Capable of playing on either outside back spots, Clark is also productive offensively, hitting good passes and using her great acceleration to beat defenders and push the ball forward.

Clark is a defender on the GSA 08 ECNL team. She is listed as a midfielder, but I’ve seen her play right back. She is from Gulf Breeze, Florida and plays for Pensacola FC as well. Clark is in the Georgia rankings because she plays for GSA in the ECNL and that is where we have seen her play the most. Clark immediately stood out from game film in the ECNL Southeast Conference this season. She went flying into a slide tackle without a second thought. She came away clean with the ball. She is the perfect embodiment of the GSA team. They’re skillful but not afraid to be scrappy. A fluid athlete with drive, Clark is going to be a top outside back in this class.

Clark has split her time with GSA G08 this season playing on both outside back positions, but her natural position is on the right. That flexibility gives her coaches the ability to switch her positioning and have her defend the opponent’s top winger as she’s excellent at making plays against the ball. Clark takes care of her area of the field really well, pushing the opponents toward the sideline until she finds a good situation to make the tackle and either win the ball or stop the play. She never gives up after she’s beaten and will always come back at it to try and win the ball back. Although her main strengths are on defense, Clark also offers an interesting offensive option on the right, making good runs off the ball and connecting good passes.
