Downing is a ball-winning No. 6 who is incredibly dynamic. He goes side to side as much as he goes up and down, covering a lot of the pitch. A technical player with good tactical awareness, he facilitates the ball very well. He is a true pivot man as he moves the ball quickly as he can play the ball through the midfield or get it out wide, with accuracy. He’s also very skilled on the ball and can take players on.
