Diedrich is a winger who can play on either side of the formation. She has blistering pace. She is immediately on the attack as she never gives the outside back any time to think. She will put the opposition on their heels. Her strength is in her speed of play with the ball at her feet and her quality with either foot. She stretches the field for her side with her dynamic play from the wing. Her defensive work is really strong in her player profile. She tracks back and wins tackles for her side. She’s a weapon in the press. She’s a top attacking talent in Illinois and her performances during the ECNL playoffs reaffirm that assessment.

Currently the #1 attacker in her class. Diedrich was electric in her first outing of the tournament. Excelled at making runs in transition which freed her up for the first goal of the game. Out-dribbled numerous opponents with the ball as well. Best one came late when she blew by FIVE defenders before drawing a foul inside the box. Un fortunately, an injury kept her out the last two games. But this performance was one to surely note of.

Diedrich is a forward/midfielder on the Eclipse Select 09 ECNL team. She plays on the wing or attacking midfielder for her club team. Based on ECNL game film, I’ve mainly seen her play on the wing, but there have been some games this season when she slots in as an attacking midfielder and she is fantastic in that role. Diedrich is clever in her movement and passing. She has excellent vision and quickly finds her teammates. She has great game awareness and looks fully capable of making an impact when the game is played at a faster pace. She has a lethal right foot and has a knack for pouncing on balls around the box. Diedrich has been part of the US Youth National Talent ID Centers for the region in the past. It’s clear she is highly regarded by the scouts in the region and could have the highest potential among field players in this class.
