Headed to Abilene Christian University to continue her career in 2027. The DKSC ‘ last=”] talent is a big time athlete who uses her height to her advantage winning a ton of aerial duels. The Wildcats are 5-7-2 this season another team that recruits from their home state heavily. Good fit and I think Carney may have the opportunity to transfer up after 1 or 2 seasons as a starter.

There is a lot to like about Carney’s game as she is a forward with some standout skills. She’s quick and reactive on balls played in as she can attack with her head or hit a quick volley. She plays herself onside well and times her runs, and she can outpace center backs to get in on goal and finish cooly. She has great size for a striker, and she almost glides when she moves with long strides. She is physical as she can take defenders on and keep possession of the ball.

Carney is a forward on the DKSC 09 ECNL team. She is a new addition to the team this year. She was a standout at the high school level as a freshman and earned 1st Team All-District honors. Carney is a dynamic attacking talent who can play any role in the attack. She has the outright pace and skill to do well on the wing. She has the strength and finishing ability to be a strong fit as a center forward. Her strength is in the press though. Carney is one of the best forwards at capitalizing on the mistakes of defenders. She has quickness and tenacity to get into the duel, but it’s actually her patience to delay and then poke the ball free cleanly to create that chance that is unique compared to her peers. Carney should be on the radar for scouts this season as she looks to make a big splash in the ECNL.
