Guilherme Torres | Prep Soccer Scout
Reyna started the match on the left side of Sting’s midfield and couldn’t find ways to be much dangerous in the first half. It completed changed after she moved to the center and consistently managed to make runs on the ball and combine with her teammates. She scored the team’s second goal after winning the ball near the midfield line, taking it all the way into the box and firing an excellent shot. Reyna remained dangerous in the second half and was unlucky not to score a second goal after bringing the ball inside from the left and firing a great shot that hit the crossbar.

Reyna joined the Rankings as the overall top-ranked prospect after reclassifying from the Class of 2028. She attends St. Stephen’s Episcopal High School and is a key piece in the Sting Austin U17 team in the ECNL League. The sister of USMNT player Gio Reyna, she has a lot of international experience herself, being a frequent name in USYWNT call-ups. An attacking midfielder who can play centrally or on the left, she can be unstoppable with the ball, showing good pace to progress on the field and impressive dribbling skills, which make her game very unpredictable. Reyna is truly elite in the final third, combining excellent finishing skills and high-level playmaking, passing the ball intelligently at the right moments to get her teammates in great spots to score.

A huge re-class decision here for Reyna as she is the second player in this crop to be going to the most historical college program there is in the North Carolina Tarheels. Reyna’s talent is undeniable I can not stress that enough, she has NWSL potential. However, she will be competing for time with older more established players. I think playing time will be hard to come by in her first season. But her development as a player will really flourish if she is doing everything she needs to do in training. The professional game may be calling before her time eligibility is up. Great fit.

Reyna is part of the Sting Austin G09 team that will have Slammers FC, Florida Elite and Bay Area Surf as their opponents in North Carolina. An extremely dynamic and creative playmaker, she’s a key offensive player for them, getting involved in most of the team’s attacking plays. Reyna is excellent at dribbling the ball and consistently manages to find space in crowded areas of the field to make plays, but doesn’t hesitate to drift wide to bring the ball inside from the left. She also has excellent vision in the final third, not only picking the right options around the penalty box, but also timing her passes extremely well.

Attacking midfielder for Sting Austin 09 ECNL, member of the US Youth National Team
Player comparison – Rose Lavelle
Lavelle is a better passer, but Reyna is the better dribbler. The creativity both of them bring to the attacking midfield role feels like a similar profile for them. Although Reyna’s dribbling quality is going to get her looks on the wing at some point.
Best attributes:
Balance
First touch
Dribbling
