Studebaker and her team Crossfire Premier 06/05 will be tested against Racing Louisville Academy, Arlington Soccer and VA Union this week in Tennessee. A true box-to-box midfielder, she’s always very active on both sides of the ball in midfield and is heavily involved with what her team does on the field. Studebaker is very tall and strong and she knows how to use her physical tools to be a force in the center of the field. She’s a great tackler and is always ready to stop long passes and help defend the penalty box with her headers. Her aerial ability also comes to play offensively as she’s often a threat in set pieces. Studebaker also has good quality on the ball and is good at helping the team circulate the ball and break lines.

Studebaker has a key two-way role in the midfield of her Crossfire Premier G06 team. She plays sort of a box-to-box midfielder position and has big responsibilities on both sides of the ball. Studebaker is a very physical player and uses her size to outmuscle opponents in the middle and win possession. An excellent tackler, she’s also very active and drifts to the flanks to cover for her teammates. She’s also very important in possession, helping the team break lines and move the ball forward with her ability to break lines with her passing. She’s also a threat in set pieces because of her aerial ability.

Studebaker is a center midfielder by the letter of the position, but she is everywhere on the field. There was a point during a game where it seemed like there were three players wearing her jersey. There are characteristics to Studebaker’s game that suggest she is on the professional pathway. The level of dominance she brings on the youth fields should translate immediately to the college game. She is a charging presence in 50/50 balls in the center of the field. She makes good decisions in possession. And she is capable of making a late run into the box to finish off a chance – or just as likely track a run 60 yards to stop a goal. Studebaker should be considered one of the top No. 8s in this class.
