The MTA defender will be hard to get past in this tournament. At just 15, she was among the talented young players. She was part of the USYNT system and was invited to compete at Coachella Valley. She makes it very hard for you to keep the ball because of two things. Her smart body positioning that’s cuts off angles and forces players to give up the ball. Pairing that with speed she becomes a wall. Carolyn also is a defender who likes to play dribbling the ball with precision to create space.

Voss is a fantastic defender playing for MTA. Her ability to predict what’s going to happen before it does is exceptional. She seems to be steps ahead reading opposition attackers as she will arrive in a spot that the ball hasn’t even been played into yet. She is an excellent athlete getting on the end of through balls before even the fastest of strikers. She shows excellent awareness and game IQ when dribbling into space as a center back making things happen that few defensive minded players can emulate.
