About Declan

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m a modern goalkeeper who is comfortable playing on the ball and contributing to build-up play. I have strong distribution and make good decisions under pressure. My biggest strength is shot stopping, with quick reactions and strong positioning. I was selected to the All City First Team and pride myself on being reliable in key moments.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am confident and driven, and I don’t stop working until I achieve my goals. Off the field, I’m positive, approachable, and bring energy to the group, while on the field I take responsibility as a leader and competitor. I live by the quote, “Train like you have never won and play like you have never lost,” which reflects my mindset and work ethic.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in DECA, Economics Club, Pickleball Club, and Wrestling, which have helped me grow in teamwork, discipline, and time management. I am also a four-time AVID Academic Honor Roll recipient and am pursuing an IB Diploma, reflecting my ongoing commitment to challenging myself academically while staying involved outside the classroom.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed strong leadership and teamwork skills as the captain of my high school team. I lead by example on and off the field, communicate effectively with teammates, and take pride in being a positive role model within my team and school community.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a school with a good business or finance program within the NCAA, but I’m still focused on finding the right fit. I prefer a campus with a welcoming environment and a positive atmosphere where I can grow both on and off the field.
