Rubinstein is another player on the Best XI from the event and deservedly so. She was outstanding in the championship game. An elite 1v1 defender, Rubinstein shut down countless attacks during the course of the game. She is such a smooth defender who uses her body so well in tackles. There is a high upside to her potential thanks to that ability to calmly and efficient win any duel. She also has this knack for getting in the way. She got her foot on countless passes in the first half to shutdown passes from the opposition. She is also excellent on the ball and an impressive passer with accuracy to hit long range passes.

Rubinstein is a midfielder on the SUSA 07 ECNL team. We highlight Rubinstein over the summer for her play at the ECNL Conference Cup. She is playing up two age groups this season at the ECNL level. Rubinstein is a left-footed defensive midfielder. She is smooth on the ball. She offers a lot of the characteristics of a top prospect for her position. She also has the physical profile of a player in that role with her height and athleticism. Rubinstein should be noted as one of the top players in the 09 age group who isn’t in the YNT regularly but has the potential to be there soon. She could improve a bit defensively. The timing of her lunges to get into tackles has been a bit late in recent games. She probably got away with that more at the younger age group, but with the pace of play increasing against older competition, she will need to adjust to that. There is every reason to believe that she will during the last few months of the club season. She should be a key player for the SUSA 07 team during the postseason run.

Rubinstein is a talented midfielder from New York who could play as either a No. 8 or a No. 6. She has a really well-rounded game. She can do everything. From her ability to win tackles in the open field to her vision in the passing, Rubinstein has the tools to be a top midfielder in her class. She impressed during the ECNL playoffs with her ability to protect the back four for her side. She did a great job controlling where the game was played with her knack for winning the second ball and then quickly finding her teammates with one-touch passes. Rubinstein impressed once again at the Conference Cup.
