The Cal commit made 9 saves on the day. Her shot-stopping skills were on full display. She cut off runners in 1v1s, went up high, and showed her athleticism with vertical saves. Emma also brought the “boom stick,” as her punts went the distance. Coming into this match with 4 shutouts was impressive to say the least, as they were on a 4-game winning streak as well. I’ve also evaluated her at the ECNL level, and in that match, she put on a goalkeepers clinic. She’s definitely an underrated player. Hoping to see her rise in the rankings, as she is a certified game-changer.

She made key stops and showed her range by going up high and pulling down or knocking out dangerous crosses. Her great positioning allowed her to get good angles to cut-off runners in the box or to limit shooting angles. She anticipates well and was the most consistent goalkeeper at the event. Emma has definitely caught the eyes of some scouts and it will be interesting to see her move up the rankings.

Henzi was one of the best goalkeepers added to the California rankings in this update. She plays for Mustang SC in the ECNL. 

Henzi is five-foot-eight with excellent hands, good diving technique, and solid distribution. She is more likely to launch the ball quickly with a throw than most of the other keepers in this class. 

She’s had some highlight-reel saves this season between high school and club. She’s got the altheticism to pull off game-winning saves. 

Henzi could improve on her conviction in coming off the line. She will often take a half-step and then retreat when she second guesses if she can get to the ball. The delay is evident on crosses and balls over the top of the defense. 

Combining the athleticism with quick reflexes and secure hands, Henzi has the talent to be considered among the best goalkeepers in California.
