O’Steen and her team Solar SC G07 will be tested against three tough opponents in PDA Blue, United Futbol Academy and the Wilmington Hammerheads. A USYNT regular, she’s vastly considered one of the best in the country and is playing one age group this season. Tall, athletic and very quick to the ball, she has the entire physical package to shine between the posts and still adds to it with unwavering focus, great determination and an imposing presence between the posts. O’Steen is extremely reliable and gives her team a lot of confidence. She also played for several years as a field player and is very clean on the ball.

Playing one age group up with Solar SC 07, O’Steen is one of the most promising goalkeepers in the country. Very tall, athletic and explosive, she can make saves that not many other keepers would. Her positioning between the posts is typically excellent and she’s also great at reading opposing attackers and making moves. Her technique is also very good and O’Steen is not a keeper you’ll see out of position and conceding goals she could have avoided very often. She also has a strong, commanding presence on the field and is skilled on the ball after playing several years as a field player.

The talented O’Steen will be in action with her strong Solar SC ECNL G08 team during the weekend. Regarded as one of the most promising goalkeepers in the entire country, she has all the tools to perform at the highest level despite her young age. Her size gives her incredible reach in between the posts and O’Steen is also tremendously athletic and explosive. Her efficiency and her superior technical skills give her and her teammates a lot of defensive confidence. She used to be a very good field player when younger and her quality on the ball is another significant attribute in her game as she’s very confident on the ball and capable of hitting some excellent long passes from the back.

Arguably the great advantage at the youth level is having an exceptional goalkeeper, and O’Steen is definitely one of those. Building the team through the spine has been the recipe for success for a long time and there is a reason why it seems like O’Steen’s teams always seem to be in the final or national championship game. Beyond her success on the pitch, the super athletic shot-stopper for Solar is a two-sport star. She is one of the top high school basketball players in Texas – averaging over 17 points per game (according to MaxPreps) on varsity as a freshman. Her ranking is due to her contributions on the field though. It’s tough to talk about O’Steen’s game and not mention her past. Up to a couple of years ago, she used to be one of the top goal scorers in the Texas division of the ECNL as she split time between goal and forward. Recently, she has anchored down the defense as the top goalkeeper in the ECNL. Her background on the field has provided her with a ton of confidence in playing the ball with her feet and playing off her line – think of a sweeper-keeper. Past that, she is the most athletic shot-stopper (by far) in this age group. With lightning quick reflexes and a wing span that can cover the whole goal, she is a rare prospect at this position and one of the highest rated goalkeepers in recent history.
